Point is back and this month it brings you dragons! After a short absence over the Christmas period we have put together two fantastical issues for January.

In Nottingham read about the adventures of Dragon Mouse, a mouse who dreams of being a dragon. Meanwhile in Leeds see if you can track down the origami dragons.

We will be in Nottingham city center on Saturday 28th January. Leeds distribution TBC

Issue 4 (29.10.11)

Issue 4

I am pleased to finally announce that Issue 4 will be ready to distribute this weekend. For the first time Point will be distributed in both Nottingham and Leeds city centers on Saturday 29th October from 12 noon.

This months issue contains a selection of drawings and photographs inspired by live music.

We would also like to welcome Kayleigh Williamson to the list of artists who are contributing to the zine. Pick up a copy to see her drawings or follow her on her blog (kayleawilliamson.blogspot.com). If you would like to get involved please contact us.

Call for submissions

Through Point we are hoping to work with variety different artists and help showcase their work. Issue three will take the form of an envelope which will contain a selection of cards, each by a different artist, and all on the theme of History.

Anyone is welcome to put forward work, regardless of age or experience. The only requirements are:

  • It must be on the theme of history
  • be in 2D (drawing/painting/photography etc)
  • and be a clear digital image which we can re-size to fit the rectangular pieces of card
Please email your submission as an attachment to point.artzine@gmail.com by 27th August 2011.

Issue 2

Despite the bad wether we made it to Todmorden and were able to hand out some copies of issue 2. However if you couldn’t make it, there will be another chance to pick up issue 2 on Saturday 27th August when we will be in Leeds city centre.

Issue 2 at Todstock (07.08.11)

Issue 2 alt coversWe will be distributing the second issue of Point at Todstock (Todmorden’s free music festival) this Sunday, 7th August. Click here for more information of the event. We will be there all day so simply keep your eyes peeled for our sign.

Taking the form of two individual, pocket sized booklets, Issue 2 is inspired and influenced by the subject of dreams. Our dreams take many forms, from disturbing nightmares that make us question our own minds to light hearted happenings that bring a smile when we wake.

So please come along, say hello, enjoy some music and pick up one of the books.
